Strath Dionard painted c. 12,000 years before present? (I may be old, but not that old!) In reality this work depicts a glacier in Sogn southern Norway that topographically is similar to how the Dionard glacier would have looked in the Late-Glacial cold phase. This work dates from 1985 and relates to two glaciological expeditions in the early 1970s jointly led by the artist.
